Navigation
![]() |
Navigation is a fundamental hill skill, and is as important to hill walkers as it is to climbers. When you need it, you really need it! But this is usually in a full on white out, or when the weather is right down and you can’t see your hand in front of your face. So we regularly run courses that comfortably reproduce these conditions, they have been found very useful for people who want to sharpen their skills for up coming trips and assessments (Mountain Leader and Mountain Instructor Award). This course is ideal if you have an interest in hill walking, or if you are just wandering about in the outdoors. We run both day and night navigation training. |

Scrambling – Introduction
Scrambling is an extremely rewarding activity combing the best of both hill walking and rock climbing to produce a truly exceptional mode of journeying in the mountains, often offering far less crowded routes and a much greater sense of tranquillity. Scrambling is less intense than pure rock climbing and there is far more opportunity to stop and take stock of your surroundings and contemplate the next challenge.

NARS Beach lifeguard and Surf lifeguard are the general lifesaving standard required to run activities in coastal locations or to work as a lifeguard on any beach. The training is a week long intensive course both physically and mentally. All that training and consolidation is then put to the ultimate test during a one day assessment. A popular way of running this training is as a week block with the assessment on the Saturday, however we also run “split” courses where we utilise evenings and weekend blocks of training to suit your needs.
